| 2007 Parade Information

| The theme for 2007 is "Celebrate Oelwein With A Blast From
The Past". The parade and other activities will be held Saturday,
30 June 2007, at 10:30 AM. Community Groups, Businesses, and individuals are encouraged
to enter the parade. Entrants may decorate a float, or vehicle, march or walk. Please
visit often for the latest details. |

| For safety reasons, throwing items of any kind is prohibited!
If you want to distribute candy, brochures or other items, your entry must have someone
walk on each side of your vehicle or marchers to do the hand outs. This is to help make
it a safe and fun celebration. |

| Following the parade everyone is invited to attend the Oelwein 2007 Celebration of
our Independence at Oelwein City Park. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and appetites!
Invite your family, friends, and neighbors! Enjoy all the sights,
sounds, tastes, & activities for a day of fun in Oelwein!! |

| 2007 Parade Route & Lineup |
| |
| The 2007 Parade Route will be from Casey's General Store, South on Frederick Avenue
to Sacred Heart Church starting at 10:30 AM. Lineup will start at 9:00 AM. Fire Trucks
and Emergency Vehicles lineup on 2nd St. NW and 1st Ave NW as directed by the Parade Patrol.
ALL OTHERS will line up in the North City Parking Lot (behind the
Community Plaza) as directed by the Parade Patrol. |

| Prior to the parade, Boy Scout Troop #37 will be selling
beverages along the parade route. |

| 2007 Parade Policies

Entering the Oelwein Celebration Parade is free. All entry forms must
be received or postmarked by 25 June 2007. |

All parade entries must fill out a Parade Entry Form (for insurance purposes). There
are four ways to obtain a form. 1) download a form to print
and mail in, 2) article and form published in the Oelwein Register, 3) from the OCAD
Office (25 W Charles St.), or 4) from the Parade Committee by contacting us at parade@oelweincelebration.com
or mail request to:

The order in which the entrants are positioned will be determined by
the Parade Committee. Entries which broadcast sound — live music, recorded music
— will be separated so that the sounds do not conflict and the viewers can fully
enjoy each entry. |

The Parade Committee will attempt to utilize each entrant's position
requests, however the final decision as to where each entry is positioned in the parade
will be made by the Parade Committee. Any entrant arguing with the Parade Committee
about their position will be asked to leave. |

| There is no fee to enter the Oelwein Celebration Parade but a free will donation may
be mailed to the above address. |

| Entries will be judged on how well they represent this year's theme, "Celebrate
Oelwein With A Blast From The Past". Ribbons will be awarded to the winning
entries, with judging to be done prior to the start of the parade. The awards will be
as follows: |
